Meet the Moms

Five moms that live in and around the Memphis area connected over their child’s diagnosis – Spina Bifida. Navigating the same difficult reality, they found relief and support in one another. Over the years, they have grown closer and closer through their shared experiences. Because they share the same motivation and dedication to help their child succeed, they have realized the importance of intensive physical therapy.

Intensive physical therapy is a focused program that quickly accelerates progress, improves strength and coordination, helps support both brain and body development, and leads to better long-term functional outcomes and independence in a short matter of time. But there’s one problem – the cost. High quality, intensive programs are not covered by insurance and can come with a heavy financial burden.

Desperate to give their children this opportunity, the moms decided to act. Together, they founded the Spina Bifida 901 Foundation dedicated to raising funds to help children in the community with Spina Bifida access intensive physical therapy programs, advocating not only for their own children, but for countless others who deserve greater access to care, opportunity, and hope.
